According to Russians, the number of Russian citizens living at the poverty line at the conclusion of 2015 continues to grow. This is evidenced by fresh statistics compiled by the All-Russia Centre for Public Opinion Research (VTsIOM)
The segment of the poorest layer of the population, which does not have the means even for food, more than doubled itself in 2015, growing from 4% to 9%. The fragment of the Russian population, who can afford food, but don’t have the means to buy clothes, grew this year from 18% to 30%.
The segment of the population that has the means to buy household electronics fell this year by 7%, to be fixed at 40%. An even bigger drop was demonstrated by the fragment of the population that could afford to buy a car: from 27% in 2014 to 16% in 2015.
Remarkably, given that on a general scale there’s a situation of lowering incomes, the segment of the Russian population which does experience any financial problems and can afford everything grew from 3% in 2014 to 4% in 2015.
Earlier it was stated, that at the conclusion of November, the decrease in the incomes of the Russian population had reached the highest point.
