Putin Signs Bill ‘for the Maximum Quantity Staffing of Public Servants’

Vladimir Putin signed the decree regulating the maximum employee quantity in a number of ministries and departments. The number of public servants will have to be decreased.

“Actually, this decree is on a continuum of a series of decrees dictating staff reduction in the public servant apparatus in various ministries and departments, underlying services and agencies, which includes the Investigation Committee in the Supreme Public Prosecution Office (Genprokuratura)”, said the President’s spokesman, Dmitriy Peskov.

According to the document, which was published on the official internet portal for legal information, the number of public servants will decrease by approximately 10%.

In particular, the quantity of employees will be decreased by 10% in the Ministry of Communication and Connexion and its underlying structures. The largest staff reduction will occur in the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor), where 300 persons will be fired.
